June 9-10, 2016

DDF Principal Investigators

WHAT is it all about?

The DDF Project is an iniative begun by a researcher of development and disasters at the University of Essex. The first step in this initiative is to bring together academic researchers and policy practitioners to discuss development interventions and disaster resilience. To that end, we are hosting a workshop at the University of Essex on 9-10 June 2016.

Practitioners will have the opportunity to detail their most pressing concerns. Researchers will design experiments to address those concerns. Ultimately, these designs will be implemented in Southern Africa, an area experiencing severe rain fluctuations and food insecurity as a result of El Niño.
